Vending is Closed for 2007
For 2007 Venders only: Vender set up starts at 10:30 am on Friday.
There will be no exceptions, so please do not ask. There is plenty of time for set up, since the first workshop does not start until 2:30 pm. There will be no parking in the unloading zone before 10:00 am. Any vender blocking the loading zone before 10:00 am will be asked to move. We do realize that it gets hot fast in Reno in July, which is why we have moved the set up time up to 10:30. It was Noon.
We need the time before 10:30 to unload and set up our stuff. There is a lot to do on our end and we need the time and space to do it.
Once you have finished unloading, you need to move your vehicle out of the loading area. The parking area nearest the loading zone is for Valet Parking only. Vehicles parked in this area must be parked by Valet Parking. There are acres and acres of free parking on the property. All parking areas are patrolled. Please respect all reserved and fire zones (painted red).
Vending at Wiggles of the West
Shopping has always been and will always be a very important part of Wiggles of the West. We recognize this as a fact and we are glad it is. We never treat our venders as an afterthought, venders are important to us. We want our venders to make money.
Unlike many established events, we have not increased the amount of vending space. Quite the opposite, we have condensed our vending into one room. We believe this will provide an even higher quality sales potential. We are an “Invitation Only” vending event. We are also trying to keep a nice mix of merchandise to better serve our shoppers. For this reason, we do not allow a lot of repetition in merchandise sold. We feel this will also give our venders a better chance to make sales. Some competition is wonderful, but an event overloaded with the same merchandise helps no one.
We give shopping breaks between categories. We also show off your merchandise for you between contestants, while we are waiting for the Judges to finish scoring. There will also be a Fashion Show Saturday before the contest starts.
We strive to keep our vending fees reasonable. Our operating costs are always on the rise, just like every other event. We work with the same Hotel and Casino year after year, which keeps our costs more secure. We have no control over any costs the City of Reno may add, but we promise not to pad the costs.
You do not need a Nevada business license to vend at Wiggles of the West. You are vending under our licensing. For this reason, we will distribute sales tax charts and envelopes. You can turn in collected sales tax to us at the end of the event. Fire Marshals will inspect us after set up. If you are asked to move or change something to meet fire codes, we will expect you to do so.
We do allow the sharing of booth space, so if two or more venders want to share a space they can. We must know at the time of registration if you are sharing and with whom. The original vender is responsible for the full vender fee. The original vender is also responsible for the conduct of those that share the booth. You may not share a booth with a Black Listed vender.
You are never allowed to resell/rent your booth to someone else. If you can not attend, you forfeit your vender fees. We must be notified, if you cannot attend. NO SHOWS may wind up on the “Black List”. People who resold or allowed another vender to use their booth, wind up on the “Black List”.
The “Black List” is blessedly short. Venders who cannot go by the rules or who create problems are black listed. If for some reason, usually financial, you decide this is not the venue for your business we do not black list you. We are venders and we do understand.
We invite past venders first, but this is a “first come, first served” event. If invited venders do not respond to their invitation by the deadline, then we go to the approved venders on our waiting list. Approved venders are those that do not sell items that are already being sold by invited venders. If you would like to be considered for our Waiting List, please send the following information to Janie:
Business Name, Describe Products being sold, Owner’s Name or Contact person, Web Address, Physical Address, Business phone, E-mail

TAKE DOWN
Take Down can start during the last part of the contest, if you choose, or after the contest is over. If you start your take down before the contest is over, please be very quiet and discreet, so you don’t distract the dancers. We do not want anyone to have the sound of packing on their video.
