These are the Judges for our 2007 contest. Many have been with us for several years, some new last year. We will be adding more as we know more. Check back!




Aisha Ahroosh is an award winning performer and instructor with over twenty years of dance experience. She is also the owner and artist of “Ladysilk Designs”, creating beautiful silk veils for belly dancers. www.ladysilkdesigns.com







Aneena won Headliner of the Year 1997 and Entertainer of the Year 1999. She is the Director/Choreographer of Dancers of the Desert from Northern California. Aneena (in conjunction with Cindy), has 10 instructional and choreography videos and DVDs on the market, including her specialty - Double Veil."







Ayesha has been teaching and performing for the past 30 years. She was the choreographer and co-director of Troupe Mandala, winners of numerous awards. She reformed the troupe and named it Ayesha's Oasis Dance Co., winners of Bellydance USA 2005 Troupe. She is the owner of Ayesha's Oasis, a vending business and dance studio based in Southern Oregon. Jim Boz - An award winning Middle Eastern Dance performer and choreographer, Jim Boz teaches weekly classes in San Diego, CA in addition to workshops and performances nationwide. www.jimboz.com







Gaylene - is known far and wide for her costume pieces and as the purveyor of wonderful fabric. She is also known for her floorwork workshops. She judges many of the contests in the Pacific Northwest and has been one of the Wiggles of the West judges from the beginning. Gaylene's Boutique







Halima - of Sumner, WA is the owner of Halima’s Designs. She is a master workshop instructor and has studied all forms of Middle Eastern dance for over 30 years. She is the Past Owner/Editor of Jareeda Magazine, MED&CA magazine (and Pres.), and one of the originators of La Danse Oreintale Competition and Bellydancer’s Showcase. Halima's Designs










Mezdulene is a master teacher, a teacher of teachers who has touched thousands of live during her career. She is the Editor/Owner of Jareeda, an International Middle Eastern Dance magazine, has produced 6 instructional and performance videos and sponsors an annual belly dance retreat and the Belly Dancer U.S.A. Competition. She is also the Director of Mystical Oasis Dance Co. and she is an Internationally acclaimed performer and instructor. Jareeda Magazine and Mezdulene







Minya - is the troupe choreographer for the tribal troupe Asha Belly Dancers. Asha means life and to her dancing IS life. She is currently teaching at Truckee Meadows Community College. Asha Belly Dancers










Nabeela El Shalimar - has been both teaching and performing the dances of the Middle East and North Africa for over 20 years. Nabeela has developed a style that is earthy, soulful, true to the culture and highly entertaining. She has performed throughout the USA, Canada and Turkey. Nabeela's website











Saahira - Part of the multi-award winning Troupe, Asha bellydancers. I starting belly dancing in 1994. I moved to Reno, NV and found a wonderful teacher, Tahari, who encouraged me to expand my dance style to World Fusion Belly Dancing. I am a co-director and customer designer of Asha Belly Dancers and a teacher at Sparks Park and Rec. Sparks, NV.













Yasmine of Sirens In Sanity took her first belly dance class in January of 1996. Since that time she has not only become a Professional Belly Dance Soloist but a Studio Owner and an award winning Performer, Instructor and Choreographer. In the ten years of dancing and performing, her passion and grace have established a reputation which extends far from her home in Benicia, CA. She has professionally performed in Jamaica, taught a series of workshops and classes in Kauai and Montana. When she is not dancing, teaching or working on the business of Sirens In Sanity, she enjoys hot rod & motorcycle shows, camping and fly fishing trips with her family. Yasmine extends love and devotion to her husband, John, her son A.J. and her wonderful family and friends, whose support and patience allows her to share the joy that dancing brings her.
